Thoughts from yest included that of late we rly find ourselves pursuing "beautiful" things photos pictures artefacts and even just life or events that are gory being aestheticised But there was nothing rly "pretty" at all about Jesus' death on the cross. And i wonder if i were standing in the crowd that day, or even today, would i run away bc i couldnt look, would i cower away, unable to take it all in. Or would I be able to stand there and recognise that theres rly nothing "pretty" at all in a man hung on a cross, beaten n bruised, nothing easy to stomach watching hands being pierced and blood literally spilled- but most of all that this is love, this is my Saviour, and someone would actually do something like that for me?. wld I be able to confront the full weight of the cost.. and know that there truly is a love so great, that there truly is someone who loves me beyond humand understanding, and lastly that such great love demands a radical response.
