Another paragraph I like. (: And so, this pain, more than anything else will teach me to trust. Each day, as the sun goes down and I still find myself securely held in the arms of the Father, my faith is built. He doesn’t promise to give me everything I need to never be hungry. He promises to give me everything I need to not starve to death on the road home to Him. And today I’m alive; He has proved Himself faithful. He doesn’t promise to give me everything I need to never ever falter. He promises to give me everything I need to finish this race. And today I love Him; He has proved Himself faithful. He will finish the good work He began in me. There is only one thing I really need. And it is secure. 11:17:00 PM
My favourite three paragraphs in a link from hannah! This whole thing is so painful because somewhere along the way I began to believe that my dreams would save me. We all did. We began to believe that if we could just get that one thing we want we would be rescued from this gnawing sense of insufficiency inside of us. We want our dreams because we think they must hold the answer to the nagging insecurity that makes most of us skip the reunion altogether. But temporal dreams are too small to fill that gaping hole. They’re just too small. And those deep longings in our hearts are just so much bigger. My heart won’t be satisfied by pleasure for 30 years. It wants pleasure forevermore. My heart won’t be satisfied by a love that fails 6 days out of 7. My heart won’t even be satisfied by a love that fails 1 out of every 365 days. My heart needs a love that will never fail. My heart needs a love that will always pursue, always forgive, never forsake, always fight. And that love is the only hope I have that I won’t trade my Jesus just so that I can have a better story at my 20 year high school reunion. While everything in me is willing to exchange everything for nothing, I have Someone refusing to let me compromise. I have Someone who has promised to fulfill my deepest dreams in every moment. 2:09:00 PM
I was made to praise You, I was made to glorify Your name in every circumstance I was made for You Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 11:44:00 PM
I constantly feel like there are a million things I want to do, but never actually get round to doing. :/ This time, I'm going to make a plan, a list, and follow through with it. Or at least try a lot harder to. I think you feel most exhausted, and in need of some form of escape when conflicting emotions prove far too overwhelming. Maybe its a blessing- to be able to see God's goodness amidst all this. But how do you ever reconcile joy with. sorrow.? Its scary to see how circumstances can cause you to question God's hand in all this. There are no words to describe it. we'll press on. we will overcome, by the blood of the lamb & the word of our testimony Lord teach me to be a Job. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 10:04:00 AM
I'm so thankful that there are three of us. Sunday, September 26, 2010, 11:04:00 AM
I'll sing to You Lord a hymn of love, for Your faithfulness to me. I'm carried in everlasting arms, You'll never let me go Lord, You have been more than faithful. Sunday, September 19, 2010, 5:53:00 PM
hide me now, under Your wings cover me, within Your mighty hands. Your love never fails. Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 11:16:00 PM
for there I find You waiting, and there I find release. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 5:37:00 PM

caught my first ever play today at the esplanade with the osl team- Breaking the Silence. and I thought it was really one of those things that leave you with a different perspective, one thats alot less microscopic. (because I tend to slip into apathy towards the things that are happening in the world, only with consideration for those that might directly affect me.) and I think what left the greatest impact was definitely that when each story was being told, even though the intention was probably for it to be faceless, and be representative of the vast majority, the pictures of all the victims we saw at tuolsleng kept being pieced & drawn to each story, and it made the whole play become so real, in such a gripping way. Mmhmm. had a camwhoring session with TOM(-2) after. (: with our successful jumpshots & random laughing-at-people moments. but it was a nice, enjoyable day of unwinding & destressing (even though we stressed about EYA mugging before dinner) (: looking forward to tomorrow. (: every day a brand new chance to say, Jesus You are the only way. Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 10:20:00 PM
; if its cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile had a really nice time with Jac today. (: talking between studying. (: and I was really glad for the reminder that amidst all this crazy EYA mugging, greatness doesn't come from being the best, or the most brilliant, but from being the last, from being a servant of all. because its so easy to get caught up in all this, that you lose sight of what counts for anything. hmm. thank You God. or that I appreciate it, maybe just as much as being around people I care about/have a really good time hanging out with. and also I discovered that my mood sways/is greatly affected by the different things I see or hear. Which isn't necessarily a very brilliant thing. :/ I think I almost cried while reading Hedda Gabler. ;no I never told you. Thursday, September 2, 2010, 7:56:00 PM
I think I could choose to feel a billion other emotions. but I guess I'm thankful that people care. edit./ its a different life now. |
