tonight someone asked me, "fave thing your dad ever did for you?" and instantaneously so many came to mind. think father figures in our lives are really quite irreplaceable. miss mine. but had such a precious moment with Jesus today during worship. the reality of His love sank so deeply. Entering the exam season with full certainty and confidence in how sovereign You are, and in Your unchanging grace and favour over my life. I know I've given these months my best. God You be glorified. Sunday, September 25, 2011, 1:04:00 AM
Deciding to go for P&P was a little bit of a challenge. I know for all the times I told God I want to pursue His kingdom first, these moments are the times I am challenged to live it out. Had such a nice time in prayer and worship. "Even if you were to enter the exam hall at this moment, my favor on you won't change" Jesus be the center of my life. I've recently been spending a lot of time in the library near church- books and laptop in tow. Most of the time I like sitting in the cafe, because I think its nice watching people come and go, overhearing conversations, watching parents fawn over little kids. Asking if they would like cheesecake or french fries or a brownie with ice cream or perhaps a milkshake. Asking if they want ketchup or chili, and also if they need tissue, and to 'please don't dirty your hands'. But what I like best, I think, is seeing all these families spend their sundays in each others' company. And I wonder when spending time with family became something to be put down in your diary in a messy scrawl- 'Dinner with grandparents'. I wonder if these children think routines like these last forever. Because I don't know when we transited either. And then on the way to the MRT station I walk past the Margaret Drive Dormitory, and see chinese foreign workers interspersed in corners of the area, some talking on their handphones, others craning their necks to watch the program being played on a television screen. And I think about the brutality of life. I wonder what thoughts they have, what emotions they feel, what they hope for in this lifetime. I wonder if they have enough ups in life to always be able to look on the bright side. I wonder what it is that keeps them going. But as I turn and set foot on the zebra crossing, I thank God- for family and the people surrounding me, for His presence in my life, for how blessed I am (CTs and all), for His unfailing love and abundant grace. Always, for His abundant love and unfailing grace. Saturday, September 17, 2011, 7:27:00 AM
Even as I was walking home last night and thanking God for a productive day, felt Him saying 'I enable'. Pretty awesome having a God who's not just able, but One who enables. :) Monday, September 12, 2011, 10:48:00 PM
today I learnt- When I am weak, You are strong. When I run out of love and patience, I live on Your love and patience. Cos its more than enough for me to give. thank You. Sunday, September 11, 2011, 11:25:00 PM

All the thoughts & emotions were far too overwhelming. But nothing means more than reading & consciously knowing who God says I am. No amount of human affirmation can ever compare. Slowly realizing that. Or think I did tonight. http://bible.org/article/who-does-god-say-i-am for any of you guys who want to know. :) Sunday, September 4, 2011, 10:26:00 PM
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." -Prov 3:5-6 Lord forgive me for all the times I try so hard to understand, and deem it more important than trusting in You. In the dead of the night God ministers. none but Jesus. Friday, September 2, 2011, 11:35:00 PM
amidst the flurry of thoughts, the confusion, the questions, the helplessness, the mild frustration. God reassures. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." -John 14:27 Lord even as You withhold answers, would You give me additional grace & patience to wait on You. and trust You completely on this. recently picked up a book thats been stashed on my shelf. feel like I can completely relate/empathise. lines that spoke most deeply & quelled the anxiety/worries- "The heart set to do the Father's will need never fear defeat. His promises of guidance may be fully counted upon. Does it make sense to believe that the Shepherd would care less about getting His sheep where He wants them to go than they care about getting there?" So used to having answers.. but perhaps its the flailing that will take me through a new season. "And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." -1 Peter 5:10 So Lord tonight, I'll rest in the certainty of your promises, not in having resolutions or answers, but in the knowledge of being surrendered and yielded to You- trusting that Your grip over my life is greater than my own. thank You. |
